【摘要】:ThispartofBS1916givesguidanceontolerances,limitsandfitsforengineeringsizesupto19.69in.Therecommendationsapplyparticularlytofitsbetweencylindricalparts,designatedas“holes”and“shafts”,inwhichcasetheterm“size”referstothediameterofthematingparts.Thedatamayalsobeappliedinappropriatecases,bysuitableselectionofthegradesofallowanceandtolerances,tofitsbetweenotherthancylindricalmatingparts,inwhichcasethe“size”referstoalength,widthorotherdimensioninsteadoftoadiameter.ThesystemdescribedinthisBritishStandardcomprisessuitablecombinationsof16gradesoftoleranceand21typesoffitforbothholeandshaft,rangingfromfitsofextremeinterferencetothoseofextremeclearance.Allbutveryexceptionalengineeringrequirementsarecovered,fromverycoarseworktofinegaugemanufacture.AselectionoffitsforgeneraluseisgiveninFigure4,andfurtherguidanceontolerancesforshaftsandholesforawiderangeoffitsisgiveninPart2ofthisBritishStandard,butitisintendedthataparticularindustryororganizationextractsandusesthoselimitswhichsuititsownproduct.Aunilateralholebasissystemisrecommendedbutafullrangeofholessuitableforuseonashaftbasissystem,unilateralorbilateral,isalsoincludedinthetables.
